Singapore Airlines Flights To Avoid Conflict Zone

With the outbreak of hostilities in Iraq, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has implemented plans to ensure its services from Singapore to the Middle East and Europe, and its transatlantic services to the United States that operate via Europe, can continue.

Several alternative flight paths that avoid the areas of conflict are available, some of which are only marginally longer than the normal flight paths. As far as possible, SIA will use the most direct route to Europe, north of the conflict zone, in which case flight times will not be affected significantly.

All flight paths in use by SIA avoid areas of conflict and plans are in place to respond quickly to any escalation or spread of the conflict by further widening the flight-path withdrawals.
