For Immediate Release

ANZ and Export New Zealand form Strategic Partnership

New Zealand's largest foreign exchange and trade finance provider, ANZ and Export New Zealand today signed an agreement that will support the growth and development of New Zealand's export sector.

The strategic partnership sees ANZ business managers, together with the Bank's foreign exchange and trade finance specialists, working with Export New Zealand to support the growing export community.

ANZ will provide resources and information on Banking, Finance, Foreign Exchange, Economics and Export Risk Management to Export New Zealand and its member companies and individuals.

The Bank's specialist staff will also regularly present at Export New Zealand events to help the organisation achieve one of its primary goals of facilitating education amongst the country's exporters.

A significant cash contribution and provision of packaged banking services to the national body, its branch network and membership base are also part of the agreement.

National Director of Export New Zealand, Ainsley Brooks, says ANZ will play an important role in helping the organisation achieve its objectives.

"ANZ and Export New Zealand share a common goal - to develop an environment where exporters can thrive, and new exporters can be encouraged and nurtured as they look to sell their products and services overseas" she says.

"Banks play a vital role in trade and it's important that our exporters and export related industries understand the services and advice available from the banking sector. As New Zealand's leading trade finance and foreign exchange provider, with strong national and global representation, ANZ are the perfect partner for Export New Zealand."

ANZ New Zealand's Managing Director, Greg Camm, says the Bank supports Export New Zealand's drive to increase the country's foreign exchange earnings and employment opportunities.

"Export New Zealand is building an infrastructure to help facilitate its goals. Goals such as education, provision of networking opportunities and working with individuals, companies and the Government to lift New Zealand's productivity and output.

"Export New Zealand's goal is to not only support existing exporters, but to help develop the new exporters of tomorrow. We are obviously supportive of this and are happy that we can contribute to the nation's export industry."
