AA Members set to swipe big prizes in new BP promotion

BP Oil has launched a major nationwide retail promotion giving AA Members the chance to win big weekly prizes by presenting their AA Membership Card when they buy fuel and other goods from BP service stations.

The promotion, called Swipe Out!, leverages BP’s long-standing status as a partner in the AA Rewards loyalty programme. Customers are automatically entered into a weekly draw for prizes including $10,000 cash, Toyota vehicles and holidays in Fiji, whenever their AA Membership Card is swiped at any participating BP service station. The prizes offered will change from week to week, and the prize to be won during any given week will be displayed at all participating BP service stations.

Customers will also continue to earn AA Rewards Points with all qualifying purchases at BP.

“We’ve given a great deal of thought to ways we can add real value to the AA Rewards programme and extend benefits to Members,” says BP’s General Manager of Retail, Andrew Baird. “Swipe Out! works because it is simple. Customers aren’t required to do anything extra to participate – they’re automatically in the draw whenever they use their AA Membership Card at BP in the usual way. And we’ve placed no restriction on the number of times they can participate in any given week. Every swipe counts!”

BP is a foundation partner in the AA Rewards loyalty programme, which offers Members discount coupons in exchange for points earned when shopping at partner retailers.

“As the competition between loyalty schemes has grown more and more cut-throat, we’ve had to identify ways to keep Members interested and actively involved,” says Andrew Baird. “Swipe Out! is a manifestation of that. And the scale of the prizes on offer is indicative of the importance we place on making the AA Rewards programme work for Members, and for BP.

“AA Members can expect similar promotions in the future, as we look to maintain the momentum created by Swipe Out! and ensure AA Rewards is a key reason for customers to continue shopping at BP.”

The big weekly winners in the Swipe Out! promotion will be notified by telephone and in writing. Winners will also be published in Sunday newspapers and on BP’s website: http://www.bp.co.nz.
