Telecom And Compass Sign Interconnection Deal

Telecom and Compass Communications have successfully negotiated a comprehensive, two-year interconnection agreement.

Chief Operating Officer New Zealand Simon Moutter said the deal shows that where there’s a genuine will, commercial negotiation can achieve a win–win outcome for both parties.

“The agreement is based on the Commerce Commission’s determination on interconnection. It’s also being used as a model for the interconnection negotiations we’re currently having with several other carriers.

“Telecom expects to successfully conclude those negotiations in the near future.

“We strongly believe in negotiated settlements like these. When businesses can sit down together and sort things out, the solution’s always the best.”
