Asia Pacific Unveils Another Wellington Property

Grand Hotels International - Asia Pacific Unveils Another Wellington Property

Grand Hotels International is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Port Nic Properties Limited to manage the sales and marketing for one of Wellington's historic hotels. To be known as "The Chancellor - Wellington", the agreement takes effect from 1 August 2003.

Set in Wellington's lively and vibrant Cuba precinct, The Chancellor - Wellington is a 115 room recently refurbished boutique heritage 3½ star hotel, suitable for both the corporate and leisure traveler. Built in 1908, it is now the only hotel out of an original seven, still functioning as such in the Cuba Street area. The restoration has retained its original character and charm while offering guests modern facilities including ensuite bathrooms, television, tea-coffee making facilities and Internet access. An on-site café and bar are also to undergo refurbishment shortly.

The Chancellor - Wellington is situated in an ideal central city location within easy walking distance of the business district, conference venues, eateries and the Capital's entertainment, shopping, theatre and tourist attractions including Te Papa.

The hotel joins Grand Hotels International's other heritage hotel The Chancellor Dunedin, originally the historic Wain's Hotel. The 43-room Dunedin hotel was purchased by Grand Central Management (NZ) Limited in 2002 and is undergoing an extensive and elegant refurbishment, restoring it to its former splendour.
