Emirates Prepares Sales Force Highest Standards

Emirates Prepares Sales Force For Highest Ever Standards Of Customer Service

Emirates Airline is preparing its sales force to manage the planned growth of its business in the near future, while offering the highest standards of service to customers in the aviation industry.

A new chapter for Emirates and commercial aviation starts in just a few weeks, when the airline makes the world's longest-range aircraft, the Airbus A340-500, available to passengers travelling to Australia and New Zealand through Sydney. Emirates is the world's launch airline for this new state-of-the-art four-engine airplane, which will be progressively pressed into service on other routes.

To prepare for this watershed development and to gear up for other planned steps in support of Emirates' continued fast growth, passenger and cargo sales teams from across the network came together in Dubai for this year's edition of their annual conference, which ended last night (Sunday 19 October 2003). This was the largest gathering of its kind ever, with more than 1000 staff in attendance.

During the conference, dedicated to the theme "On the Threshold of a Dream", Emirates' top management briefed the sales force on the airline's plans to install the equipment required by its growth strategy, and to manage those capital investments.

Over the three days of the conference, the airline's passenger and cargo sales staff also were exposed in great detail to the tactical plans carefully laid out to offer customers more seat and payload capacities, unprecedented levels of comfort, greater frequencies and more routes to new destinations ? a demonstration of Emirates' commitment to making their "dreams" come true.

In addition, the sales teams also heard a status report on the new Emirates-dedicated terminal under construction at the airline's hub, Dubai International Airport.

Opening the conference, Emirates' Chairman HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said: "We are investing in an infrastructure which will provide you with the ability to make fast decisions to grab the business; support which will help you to remain on top in your market."

He also commented: "We have to ensure that as we become bigger, we do not lose the personal touch... as we shape the company into a global carrier, and prepare to attract 15 million visitors to Dubai by 2010."

He concluded: "I want to take this opportunity to emphasise the important and major role you are playing now ? and will play in the future. I congratulate you on your hard work, your enthusiasm, your loyalty and for your passion."
