Duncan Cotterill Accredited NZX Sponsor

Duncan Cotterill Accredited NZX Sponsor

Duncan Cotterill has been named as an accredited NZX Sponsor – one of only three legal firms to date to receive the accreditation.

The accreditation is for the purposes of the New Zealand Stock Exchange’s new market, the NZAX, which is tailor-made to facilitate growth for fast-moving companies.

“The Duncan Cotterill team is delighted to have been accredited as an NZX Sponsor. It is an exciting role that will provide the firm with an opportunity to really help New Zealand businesses grow,” says Duncan Cotterill Associate Stephen Brent.

The NZX created the unique sponsor role to help companies with the transition to NZAX listed status. To be accredited as a sponsor, applicants have to go through a rigorous screening process.

“The accreditation of Duncan Cotterill as an NZX Sponsor recognises our experience and proven track record in advising listed companies, capital raisings and public offerings under the Securities Act 1978, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate advisory work,” says Stephen.

As a NZX sponsor, Duncan Cotterill’s role will be to advise companies on the requirements for reaching NZAX listed status, liaise with the NZX on behalf of the applicant and apply to the NZX for listing on behalf of the applicant, ensuring that if capital is being raised there is a successful allocation of securities to investors. Duncan Cotterill will also advise NZAX companies on their obligations once they are listed.
