Introducing Rex iServer

New name, new attitude and enterprise capability

Wellington, 12 October 2004: Optimation is delighted to announce that with the release of the new version of the Rex software, the product name will be changed to Rex iServer.

The name change reflects Optimation's commitment to delivering a product that is truly enterprise-capable.

"Since we began working with Rex, we've talked extensively to users about their needs. It rapidly became clear to us that customers want to retain Rex's ease-of-use and simplicity, but have the ability to do far more with the product across all areas of their business," says Optimation managing director Neil Butler.

"Our vision for Rex has always included the move to an open, scalable component-based architecture that will offer enhanced performance, flexibility and reliability."

Rex iServer will incorporate the best of RexComposer and RexConductor, including user-friendly content management and intranet development tools. However, it will also be so much more, giving customers the ability to manage multiple intranet, extranet and internet sites from one place and acting as a key information delivery system across the enterprise.

Core business processes, multi-site management out of the box

Out of the box, Rex iServer will deliver core business processes and web site functionality including content management, message boards, news and event calendars. It will also provide a single administration website to support multiple sites, shared content and enterprise search capabilities.
