Syft Wins Most Innovative Product Award

Syft Wins Most Innovative Product Award

Syft Technologies’ award for the most innovative hi-tech product of the year has provided a further boost of confidence in the work the Christchurch-based company is doing.

Syft Technologies’ first entry into the prestigious Westpac Hi-Tech Awards won its Voice100 device the Precision NZ Most Innovative Product of the Year Award.

The judges said about Syft: “This was not a case of reinventing the wheel; Syft have invented an entirely new wheel that will have impact on our everyday lives. It has enormous potential for the future. Syft’s potential for growth is simply phenomenal.”

“I am delighted that the Voice100 has been recognized by the judges of the Hi Tech awards at our first attempt,” Geoff Peck, Chief Operations Officer for Syft Technologies Ltd, said after the awards.

“We have an opportunity to change the world in a multitude of applications where real-time analysis is the key. The validation of our work by the Hi Tech industry is extremely pleasing and is a huge step in our mission to grow this organisation into another world-beating Kiwi success story”

“This award is a fantastic boost for the team at Syft. Everyone has worked so hard over the past two years to bring this ground-breaking technology to market. The opportunities for the product and the organisation continue to grow and being judged a winner in this prestigious industry category is indeed an honour.”

The Voice100 is an extremely accurate and fast analytical instrument. It can detect trace volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in concentrations as low as parts per billion, in real time. No other technology can quantify and qualify to the same level of accuracy in real time as the SIFT-MS based instrument.

“The work the Syft team has done over the past couple of years has built on 20 years of technological research at the University of Canterbury,” says Geoff Peck.

“Syft has taken the SIFT-MS technology from the university research environment into the commercial world. A number of innovative design changes have lead to the technology footprint shrinking from a hand-built 4 tonne instrument to an easy to operate device designed to fit into a standard laboratory.

“Syft has a fantastic resource of engineering, marketing and scientific capacity and expertise that we have been able to use to develop and commercialise the technology in just a couple of short years,” concludes Geoff Peck.
