Manawatu Business Owner Appointed To National Office Products Depot Board
03 DECEMBER 2004: New Zealand’s office solutions leader, Office Products Depot, has appointed Palmerston North’s Duncan White to its national board.
Mr White, co-owner of the Manawatu Office Products Depot for five years, has been elected to the seven-member OPD board, chaired by Mr Keith Hunt of Masterton.
A graduate of Massey University’s Business School, Mr White has lived in Palmerston North for 14 years. At 31 he is the youngest member ever appointed to the OPD board.
He says he particularly delighted with his appointment in that he received such positive support from the group despite this being the first time he stood for the position.
“It has been valuable to be involved with the industry on a local and regional level, and I am looking forward to expanding on that with experience at national and international level,” he says. “Being on the board will allow me to raise awareness of issues affecting the local office products industry and assist in strategic decision making.”
Office Products Depot Chief Executive Rob MacGregor says Mr White’s business acumen and proven leadership ability more than qualify him for the role. “I’m confident he will play a key role in the development and growth of our organisation,” he says.
With branches throughout New Zealand, Office Products Depot is the country’s largest independent group in business-to-business office solutions, and currently turns over $100 million annually. OPD recently engaged in a strategic alliance with Office National Australia.
