Metro Food Editor Appointed

ACP Media today announced another exciting appointment to its editorial team. Laurie Black joins the company as Food Editor on Metro magazine.

Laurie will head up Metro magazine’s respected restaurant reviewing team, as well as contributing regular food articles. A former chef with 12 years experience working in restaurants, Laurie is well qualified to take on the mantle of Metro restaurant reviewer. One of her first projects will be judging Metro’s 2005 Restaurant of the Year Award in association with Allied Domecq.

Laurie has been a food writer for Cuisine magazine for the past six years. She published her first cookbook New Home Cooking in 2003 and is a food consultant to a number of leading New Zealand food and alcohol producers.

ACP Media Group Publisher, Debra Millar, said Laurie’s appointment further enhanced ACP Media’s extensive food offering.

“In addition to Metro, Laurie will be involved alongside ACP Media’s other food and wine editors in developing new projects,” said Debra Millar.

“ACP Media publishes more than 3,000 recipes every year and offers tasting notes on more than 1,000 wines within its portfolio of consumer titles. We have a very diverse food and wine offering thanks to Julie Biuso’s recipes in Woman’s Day, Your Home & Garden and NZ Home & Entertaining, Allyson Gofton’s recipes in Next, Bob Campbell’s wine tasting notes in NZ Home & Entertaining and Gourmet Traveller Wine, and now Laurie Black’s contributions to Metro.”
