Travel Expo Bigger Than Ever

24 January 2005

Travel Expo Bigger Than Ever

For the ninth consecutive year, Flight Centre has pulled together travel consultants, operators and wholesalers from around New Zealand and the world for a major travel event at the Auckland Showgrounds on Waitangi weekend.

Travel Expo 2005 will be displaying the most exciting destinations and best deals available in the travel this year, all under one roof.

Designed with the traveller in mind, the event involves nearly 100 exhibitors offering extensive advice and special deals on all aspects of travel, from planning an itinerary to flights, accommodation, tours, cruising, adventure travel, car hire, travel insurance and more.

Flight Centre managing director Graeme Moore said if current trends continue, record numbers of New Zealanders are predicted to travel overseas this year, and Travel Expo is a great way for those thinking about a trip to seek all the advice, information and quotes they could want.

Exclusive ‘expo-only’ deals will also be available at this free event.

Nationwide more than 25,000 people attended last year’s Travel Expos, which were limited to three main locations, with more than 3,500 people booking travel on the day. This year numbers look set to top this, as many regional stores around the country stage their own expos for the first time.

Bringing together some of the industry’s best travel experts, the Auckland Expo will feature film presentations on a number of destinations and travel options, as well as a range of prize draws open to every visitor.

Travel Expo 2005 will be held on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 February at the Auckland Showgrounds, 10am – 4pm. Entry is free.
