Pacific Blue Takes On International Freight

MEDIA RELEASE

Pacific Blue Takes On International Freight

Pacific Blue is celebrating one year of flying by announcing the launch of commercial cargo operations across its Trans Tasman and intra Pacific Island network.

The initiative has been welcomed by agents, forwarders, other airlines and suppliers and will provide a very competitive alternative to and from Australia, as well as several Pacific ports.

Pacific Blue and Virgin Blue now operate over 100 connecting services a week between New Zealand, Australia, Fiji^ and Vanuatu^, with Virgin Blue operating approximately 300 flights per day within Australia.

Consignments lodged up to midnight at New Zealand Cargo Terminal Operators (CTO) will be delivered to all major ports in Australia the following morning, meaning delivery almost anywhere in Australia within 24 hours.

The express clearance of this freight operation is supported through Patrick’s Air Services in Australia and Cargo port in New Zealand and with the local CTO in the Pacific Islands.

Pacific Blue Freight** General Manager, Max Irvine Brown, said, “The goal for Pacific Blue is to work together with the CTO's to make sure agents have their freight with speed as we recognise the importance of those needs within the industry”.

“We are setting new standards in freight customer service that align with the company strategy of putting the customer first and foremost and we believe that people who want a good deal on freight will vote with their wallet, that’s what competition is all about,” he finished.
