Bangkok For $777 On Emirates' Boeing 777

Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, will launch its new Auckland-Bangkok route with a special round-trip rate of $777 between the two cities.

>From May 2, one of the three daily services Emirates offers to Dubai and beyond will be routed via Bangkok.

The $777 return fare will apply to economy class. There will also be special fares for business class ($2,777) and first class ($3,777).

"We're celebrating our new link from Auckland to exciting Bangkok with an equally exciting fare," said Emirates' New Zealand manager, Chris Lethbridge. "We are delighted to have Bangkok on our network out of New Zealand, as we believe it holds special attraction for New Zealanders."

The fares, which are exclusive of surcharges, levies and taxes, will be on sale until the end of April. A minimum three-day stay applies to all fares, with maximum stays of 35 days for economy class passengers and three months for business and first class travelers.

The outbound journey from Auckland will have to be undertaken by June 30.

A stopover in Sydney is permitted on either the outbound or return journey.

Flight details

Emirates will fly its Boeing 777-300 aircraft in three-class configuration on the Auckland-Sydney-Bangkok-Dubai route, offering 18, 42 and 320 seats in first, business and economy classes respectively, plus 23 tonnes of bellyhold space for cargo.

Flight EK 419 will take off from Auckland at 3.50pm daily, arriving in Sydney at 5.15pm (local time). It will depart from Sydney at 6.45pm, arriving in Bangkok at 1am the next morning. The flight will then depart Bangkok at 2.30am to arrive in Dubai at 5.35am (local time).

EK418 will depart Dubai International Airport at 9am, arriving in Bangkok at 6.10pm, before flying onward to Australia at 7.50pm, to land in Sydney at 7.45 the next morning. It will depart Sydney at 9.15am, arriving in Auckland at 2.15pm.
