More Investment In Cardrona Infrastructure

Improvements to ticketing, retail and the café are all part of a $1 million investment in infrastructure and customer service by Cardrona Alpine Resort for the 2005 winter season.

A new two-storey building, extending out from the current base building, will house a new and improved ticketing area. With direct access from the car park and opening out onto the courtyard at the bottom of the slopes, the new ticketing office will significantly reduce queuing times through more space and more efficient line management as well as create a better flow between the buildings and the slopes. Administration offices for ski area management, marketing, ski school and the race department fill the remainder of the new building.

A funky new juice bar and coffee shop is the latest addition to Cardrona’s extensive food and beverage facilities. Located on the ground floor of the current base building, the bar will be handy stop for a quick caffeine fix or burst of healthy, freshly squeezed juices. Cardrona led the way in providing healthier alternatives to the traditional ‘pie and chips’ mountain café food with freshly made pizzas in Captain’s and the Noodle Bar that offers while-you-wait stir-fries with fresh crisp vegetables.

Cardrona’s retail outlet has over doubled in size for 2005 and has taken over the old ticketing area. With an extensive range of ski and snowboard clothing and accessories, it is a handy one-stop-shop for those needing an extra layer of clothing, to replace lost gloves or for souvenirs.
