Fairfax Magazines Wins At MPA Awards

Fairfax Magazines scooped five accolades at the MPA Awards last night (Friday, 8 April) at a glittering gala dinner held to recognise excellence in the magazine publishing industry.

With 18 entries submitted across a number of categories, Fairfax Magazines had 15 finalists and won five awards:

Website of the Year: http://www.cuisine.co.nz Circulation Promotion of the Year: NZ Gardener [Ellerslie Flower Show] Cover of the Year: NZ Gardener - 60th birthday [special interest] The TV Guide - Test the Nation [mass market] Magazine of the Year: Cuisine [home & food]

Amanda Murphy, general manager - lifestyle titles, Fairfax Magazines comments, "We are proud of our stable of market leaders. To be recognised by our industry across multiple categories is great and will motivate us even further to make each Fairfax title the best read possible."

In the Magazine of the Year category Fairfax Magazines submitted five titles and four were finalists. Cuisine took out a coveted accolade for Magazine of the Year [home & food] in this competitive market.

Continuing the roll of good luck, Prue Dashfield also took out a top award at the Cathay Pacific Travel Media Awards earlier in the week. Prue's story for onHoliday magazine about a trip to the A&P Society show in Clareville, Wairarapa (Jolly Good Show, Spring 2004), was awarded the prestigious title of Best Magazine Story of the Year. Prue acknowledged onHoliday for recognising a trip to an A&P Show in New Zealand as an adventurous travel story.
