20 Lotto Second Division Wins Throughout New Zealand

Twenty lucky Lotto tickets won Second Division prizes of $16,267 each on Saturday night's Lotto draw, says New Zealand Lotteries Commission (NZ Lotteries) Chief Executive Trevor Hall.

Lotto's First Division prize of $1,114,510 was shared between five tickets sold in Auckland, Huntly, Otorohanga, Hastings, and Oamaru. Each winner gets $222,902. Powerball Division One was not won and has jackpotted to an estimated $8.5 million.

"These great prizes are the result of one of the changes made to Lotto last year. Second Division winners now win about five times more than they previously did, from an average of $4,000 to an average of $20,000," says Mr Hall.

A Division Two winning ticket bought in Upper Hutt also won Powerball Division Two and Lotto Division Six to win total prizes of $64,786.

Jeanette Noble, from Pak 'N' Save Upper Hutt, where the ticket was bought, said the she hoped the ticket holder was a regular player. Her store had also sold a Lotto Division Two winner in the previous week's Lotto draw.

"It looks like we might be on to a bit of a winning streak," Ms Noble said.

The stores that sold winning Second Division tickets for Lotto Draw 949 on Saturday 13 August were:
