New Brand. ‘InterCity Link’ has New Zealand covered!
InterCity Group has launched ‘InterCity Link’ (IL), a new service to New Zealand’s smaller communities using 16 to 22 seat vehicles to support its core InterCity Coachlines network. The first ‘Link’ service will operate between Hamilton and Tauranga effective 1 September 05! Other services will be phased in over time.
‘InterCity Link’ will provide a transportation link to and between many rural communities and smaller towns, some of which have little or no public transportation service at this time.” said Daniel Rode, Sales & Marketing Manager, InterCity Group. “InterCity Link is also designed to support and feed the core InterCity network from these communities.” explained Rode.
“Currently InterCity and Newmans Coach Lines operates 120 services a day to 600 towns, cities and communities across New Zealand.” said Rode, “The new ‘InterCity Link’ service reinforces our commitment to ensuring New Zealand has a wide, comprehensive and integrated passenger transport network. We are seeing greater interest in public transport as fuel prices rise.”
As ‘InterCity Link’ will complement and enhance the services of InterCity Coachlines and Newmans Coach Lines, all InterCity transport passes will be accepted on ‘InterCity Link’ services. The services will operate modern, 16 to 22, air-conditioned vehicles.
InterCity Coachlines offers a wide variety of low cost travel options with a program of passes, and special point to point low fares. They currently operate 120 daily services to 600 cities and towns throughout New Zealand, 7 days a week, 365 days a year using spacious, modern and well-equipped, air conditioned coaches. All services have regular, scheduled comfort and refreshment stops.
So wherever you are heading in New Zealand, InterCity has an ever expanding network to get you there. Chances are, if there is a highway or a byway, their network has it covered!
