29 September, 2005

InterCity's introduces "Super Saver" Fares between Christchurch and Queenstown

Effective I October, InterCity is introducing “Super Saver" fares on the “Daily Express” service between Christchurch and Queenstown. The new, low “Super Saver" fare is $33. The “Standard Adult” fare is $65, and the “Backpacker” fare is a flat $45 on the daily “InterCity Express” between these two centres.

“We see this express service as a viable transportation option for those who do not wish to pay to fly between these centres.” said Daniel Rode, Sales & Marketing Manager, InterCity Group (NZ) Limited. “With this in mind, we will focus on getting our passengers to the destination quickly, with minimum stops along the way.” emphasised Rode.

In recognition of the expected high international and domestic visitor patronage of the service, InterCity has added convenient hotel, motel and hostel pick-up, and drop-off, and their air-conditioned coaches come with reclining seats and panoramic windows

Other new pricing on this route includes the “Saver” fare of $49 and the “Backpacker” fare of $45 on the “Express” services between these two centres. Backpackers must show membership card in YHA, VIP, BBH to qualify for the fare. The “Daily Express” service numbers are: 8556 Queenstown to Christchurch, and 8557 Christchurch to Queenstown. Seats on all reduced fares are limited, so plan and book ahead.
