Comrad Medical Systems Partners With Spintech Oceania

Entry into the Australian Medical Imaging market strikes immediate success

Press release, COMRAD Medical Systems, Christchurch, New Zealand, 4-Oct-05: Following the recent announcement of a significant capital injection from the Savage Group to help the company expand off-shore, Christchurch based software developer COMRAD Medical Systems has appointed Australian distributor Spintech Oceania to represent its products to the Australian radiology imaging market. The partnership is already proving extremely productive and is generating strong interest from private radiology practices across Australia.

Spintech Oceania Pty Ltd specialises in providing software solutions and diagnostic equipment to the Australian Medical Imaging market, and was established six years ago by radiology experts and directors Phil Spinks and Mark Duffy.

Andrew Scott, director of COMRAD Medical Systems, met with Spintech at the world's largest radiology conference in Chicago called RSNA, and after initial discussions agreed to formalise a partnership with the distributor for the Australian market.

Mr Scott says, "Spintech has a number of established contacts in the Medical Imaging market and is already generating tremendous sales interest for COMRAD. Through Spintech we have implemented a 200+ user licence at a multi-site radiology practice (that we plan to make an announcement about soon), and are in the advanced stage of negotiations with a number of other multi-user sites across Australia. We're very impressed with their commitment to COMRAD and focus on our Australian market entry."

Spintech and COMRAD also agreed to distribute Cedara PACS alongside COMRAD2 after extensive product evaluation and customer input.

Mr Duffy explains, "Cedara is a leading picture archiving and communications system (PACS) that, when interfaced with the COMRAD2 Radiology Information System, provides a world leading solution for the international radiology market. COMRAD chose to interface with Cedara after asking its customers which PACS system they preferred.

We are particularly impressed with the relationship between COMRAD and Canadian software developer Cedara, and the seamless interface developed between the two software solutions is very attractive to customers as well."

COMRAD and Spintech are presenting to audiences at the RANZCR Conference at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Sydney's Darling Harbour from 6-9 October.
