Accor $10 race.

Forty-four enthusiastic competitors in the Accor $10 race completed the hardest part of their journey today - crossing Cook Strait - all thanks to Interislander.

After traveling from Auckland yesterday with only $10 in their pockets, the competitors boarded Kaitaki this morning to finish the final leg of their race to Queenstown, while raising money for Cure Kids along the way.

Interislander Manager General Passenger Services, Martin Weekes was pleased to be helping the competitors in their journey and giving them a free ride from one island to the other.

"Cure Kids is a really great organisation and we're thrilled to be able to offer our support to the competitors and the cause."

The competitors have faced a series of challenges on their journey so far and while they were onboard Kaitaki, Interislander gave them the opportunity to raise more money by face painting children's faces.
