Marlborough wines showcased on new Interislander ferry

A number of award winning Marlborough wines will be showcased to hundreds of tourists daily, after being selected for the wine list on the Interislander’s new ferry, Kaitaki.

Allied Domecq will supply the Interislander with some of the regions’ finest wines including Stoneleigh, Lawsons Dry Hills and a number of varieties by up and coming label, Benson Block.

Allied Domecq Communications Manager, Zirk van den Berg says that they are excited about the new venture.

“This is a great opportunity to expose both well established and emerging Marlborough wines to local and international travellers. Interislander is an iconic Kiwi brand and we are proud to be able to showcase our products on board their new vessel.”

Interislander’s Passenger Services Delivery Manager, Ray Wolff, agrees and says that the decision to offer Marlborough wines on Kaitaki was an easy one to make.

“We’re committed to supporting and helping grow business in the Marlborough region and proud to be able to offer our passengers world class, quality New Zealand wines.”

The Marlborough wines have been so positively received by passengers, there are now plans to extend supply to the other vessels in Interislander’s fleet. The Interislander carries over one million passengers across Cook Strait every year.
