Deloitte Makes Move To New Wellington Premises

Deloitte Makes Move To New Wellington Premises

Media Release 17 th October

Professional services firm Deloitte announced today its Wellington Office's move to new premises in the capital's CBD.

After 15 years in the Deloitte Building on Molesworth street, more than 200 people will be relocated to newly fitted out and redecorated offices in Wool house (to be renamed Deloitte House from 25 October 2005).

Wool House is bounded by Featherston Street, Brandon Street, Customhouse Quay and Johnston Street and has frontage to the first three named streets. It has a CBD location with close proximity to the waterfront, being separated by only Customhouse Quay.

According to Deloitte CEO Murray Jack, the move to the new offices signifies a new era for the firms' clients and people.

"We wanted to maintain our very real presence in the Wellington market while at the same time provide a fresh and innovative working environment for our people."

"As more and more corporate head offices relocate to Auckland for economic and business related reasons we felt it was imperative to show our commitment to Wellington, by investing in new high profile and easily accessible premises," adds Murray Jack.

The Wool House redevelopment has been completed by Miro Property Holdings Limited. The renovation involved the extension of the existing building to increase available floor plates by 200m2 and add two further office floors to the top. The extended building will comprise one level of retail, 16 levels of office space and basement car-parking. The ground floor will include a new double-height foyer and spacious lift lobby. Existing retail space will also be upgraded.

Deloitte will occupy levels 11-16 and will be the key tenant in the building.

"Studio Pacific Architecture were chosen as the architects for the Deloitte internal fit-out as their ideas closely matched the look and feel that we wanted to achieve," says Murray Jack.

"Our new office design is distinctly Wellington , and this is reflected in the design. "

"The general layout will be a combination of enclosed and open plan offices and project rooms on each of the floors, the intention was to provide a healthy and open work environment for our staff that has a distinct Wellington flavour," adds Murray Jack.
