On sale from Monday, (31 October, 2005), Simply You Living focuses on making style accessible and easy to achieve. It mixes contemporary ideas with traditional values and gives advice on keeping up with new trends and making them work with your existing pieces.

Simply You Living also takes a peak inside well-known New Zealander’s homes. In the first issue, fashion designer Trelise Cooper talks about her new home renovations.

Simply You Living will also encourage readers to enjoy the things they love and re-invent items they already own as well as investing in new pieces and where to find them.

Founder and editorial director, Paula Ryan says no room in the house will be ignored with the very best ideas, innovations and style celebrated within the magazine.

“Too many people think it’s difficult to have a stylish home, but just like a clever wardrobe, it is amazing what a few simple tricks do achieve.”

Editor, Maria Ryan, who is also Paula’s sister describes the new magazine as the perfect partner to the successful Simply You Fashion title.

“This new magazine certainly bears Paula’s mark – its philosophy is simplicity and elegance, the same principles that apply to great personal style. We will look at interiors and entertaining, whether it is at home or abroad. This first issue features the exclusive story and images from Paula’s own wedding in tropical Rarotonga with advice on how to prepare for a beach wedding.”

The Simply You Living editorial team is passionate about its New Zealand focus, with heavy emphasis on New Zealand homes, products available in New Zealand and tips that suit our unique New Zealand way-of-life. Summer beach living features strongly in the first issue with entertaining ideas for beach, barbecue and beyond.

Since starting New Zealand’s first real fashion magazine, Fashion Quarterly, 25 years ago, Paula Ryan has achieved unparalleled success in the notoriously competitive publishing industry and has become an icon in New Zealand popular culture.
