Over 600 world aviation specialists
arrive in Auckland!
This weekend Auckland
International Airport begins hosting over 600 delegates at
the ACI World Pacific combined conference. It “kicks off” on
Sunday night with a welcome ceremony at the Aotea
Centre.
This year, the annual world conference is combined with the Pacific regional conference. It will see airport executives and aviation business partners from 58 countries around the world gather at the SkyCity convention centre in Auckland from 6 to 9 November. ACI (Airports Council International) is the worldwide body representing airports – the ‘voice of the world’s airports’.
The theme of the conference is “Airports and tourism – a partnership for growth”. Delegates exchange views and hear from a range of speakers on topics of current interest to the airport and tourism sector.
Auckland Airport CEO, Don Huse, says that the conference is a great chance to showcase Auckland and New Zealand and what they can offer world markets, “We have made sure that the conference is not a typical ‘listen to the lecture’ event, and will encourage interaction between the speakers and conference participants.”

“Alongside the conference runs an exhibition in which New Zealand companies will feature prominently. Among the over 50 exhibitors are a significant number of New Zealand enterprises with leading-edge aviation products and services.”
