MPA Announces Chair And Deputy Chair

The Magazine Publishers Association today announced the appointment of its new Chair and Deputy Chair.

ACP Media chief executive Heith Mackay-Cruise is the new Chair and Julian Andrews, Director of Jones Publishing, has been appointed Deputy Chair.

The appointments are effective immediately.

Mr Mackay-Cruise said he was delighted to be taking up the role and had great expectations for the future of the magazine industry in New Zealand.

"The magazine is a vibrant medium that has an enduring and significant place in today’s media mix. I am looking forward to being an advocate for New Zealand’s magazine industry in the year ahead," he says.

"As Chair of the MPA I hope to be able to encourage our members to reach new levels of excellence in the dynamic and fast-changing environment that is the media marketplace.

"Two priorities are continuing to develop the industry’s research methodology for readership and circulation to ensure it reflects global best practice, and the development and promotion of journalistic and design talent from within the industry."

MPA Executive Director, John McClintock, says the two new members will bring a wealth of experience to the board.

"The Magazine Publishers Association is very pleased to have Heith Mackay-Cruise and Julian Andrews on board in this capacity. Their skills in fostering excellence in the industry and building the power of the magazine will be immensely valuable for all of our members, and for readers and advertisers alike," he says.
