CPA Australia Appoints Senior Exec As NZ Head

News Release
November 22, 2005

CPA Australia Appoints Senior Executive To Head NZ Office

CPA Australia, one of the world's largest professional organisations, has appointed its Queensland Divisional Director to manage the accounting group's recently set-up New Zealand operations.

Samantha Benecke brings to the role a wealth of experience from her native Queensland, where small businesses play a crucial role in the Australian state's export capabilities, as they do in New Zealand.

Based in Auckland, Ms Benecke said she is looking forward to taking on this challenge and building a dynamic CPA presence in New Zealand.

"New Zealand small businesses are similar with their Queensland counterparts in that they play a vital role in earning export dollars. As an accounting organisation, we clearly understand the issues they face in a globalised economy and we are looking forward to working closely with the business sector to help them achieve their goals," she said.

Ms Benecke added that CPA Australia's move to add New Zealand to its 17 offices, serving more than 105,000 members internationally, recognises accounting's development as a global profession and two decades of closer economic development between New Zealand and Australia.

Ms Benecke will be working to build support and services provided to the organisation's New Zealand members, including CEOs, CFOs, HR, accountants and other professionals.
