CTU Says Time To Get On With Business

We're top in the world - its time now to get on with the business of business, says CTU

"The CTU says that now is the time for companies and their representatives to get on with the business of business, rather than trying to talk down the economy and dwell on perceived restrictions that government or others impose on them," said Ross Wilson, Council of Trade Unions President.

Ross Wilson was commenting on the World Bank's Doing Business in 2006 report, originally released in mid September this year, which ranks New Zealand as the easiest place to do business.

"Whilst international comparisons are always problematic, the general view of the report is that the conditions for businesses in New Zealand are favourable," said Ross Wilson. "Many companies are enjoying high levels of profitability, and we will continue our campaign in 2006 to ensure that workers get a fair share of that profitability," said Ross Wilson.
