55 Lucky Lotto Players Top Up Christmas Stockings

Media Release
24 December 2005

55 LUCKY LOTTO PLAYERS TOP UP THEIR CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS WITH MORE THAN $2.5 MILLION IN PRIZES

Lucky Lotto players from one end of New Zealand to the other will be celebrating tonight when they discover they have one of 55 winning Lotto Triple Dip vouchers, winning them a share of almost $3 million in extra prizes, says NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Trevor Hall.

“We have winners from Kaeo in the north to Invercargill in the south and we are pleased to see that such a broad cross-section of Kiwis have been winners.

“The top prize – a $1 million house and land package - has been won by a voucher given with a Triple Dip ticket bought at Symonds Lotto, Symonds Street, Grafton, Auckland.

Players who bought their tickets at Pak N Save, Rotorua, and Halswell New World, Christchurch, will be driving away in two Ford Escapes towing Haines Hunter boats; and three lucky Triple Dip voucher holders with tickets bought at Tamatea Lucky Lotto, Napier, Hundreds and Thousands in Eastbourne, Wellington, and Beachhaven Video and Lotto, Auckland, have all won Audi A6 Sedans.

The prizes were announced on Saturday night’s Christmas Eve Lotto Draw, and Mr Hall says winners are spread right throughout the country.

“This it is the biggest Christmas promotion we have offered in our 18-year history. We wanted to offer Lotto players the types of gifts they might dream of getting at Christmas, but somehow know won’t quite make it into their stockings.

“Having a property is something most Kiwis dream of, and now whoever has that lucky voucher given with the Triple Dip sold in Auckland needs to get to their nearest lottery outlet and have their win confirmed, as do the rest of our winners.
