Online Business and Conference Tool Launched

MEDIA RELEASE

28 February 2005

Gold Coast Tourism Launches Online Business and Conference Tool

New Zealand’s business tourism planners are the target of the Gold Coast Tourism launch of www.VeryGCbiz.com - a purpose built business tourism website to assist those researching and planning a conference, meeting or incentive.

Gold Coast Tourism NZ based director Rowena Goodwill says: "We have anecdotal evidence that an increasing number of New Zealand companies are sending employees to the Gold Coast for conferences and incentive travel with a difference.

“This new website will make it much easier to find a diverse range of fantastic destinations and activities for business travellers and groups, from amazing conference venues, to surfing, wine trails and exploring the rainforests."

With an abundance of superior venue options on offer, including the $A127 million Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre at Broadbeach, the Gold Coast now leads the way in terms of resources and infrastructure that caters to the needs of the corporate and association market - from small to extremely large groups.

Gold Coast Tourism CEO Pavan Bhatia says VeryGCbiz.com is another example of the organisation’s renewed strategic focus on the corporate and association traveller and enabling them to experience the range of diverse options, conference venues and incentive experiences on offer on the Gold Coast.

VeryGCbiz.com will deliver business specific content and specially designed features such as example itineraries, merchandise and collateral, an events guide, media releases, destinational editorial, a video library, and a members' password protected area an interactive planner function and helpful Gold Coast maps.

With the help of the VeryGCbiz.com online tool, GCT hopes to further streamline the corporate and association events research and booking process for events of this calibre.
