Duxton Hotel Wellington
Sets Technology Benchmark

Wellington, New Zealand 20 March 2006: In response to customer demand, cost effective, fast, internet access is now available at the Duxton Hotel Wellington.

The hotel now offers a choice of wireless or hardwire internet to meet the varied needs of today’s business and leisure travellers. “We have installed a range of services as a result of customer demand, “It’s what our guests have been asking for and now we can provide it for them,” says Dean Overend, Duxton Hotel Wellington, Rooms Division Manager.

Guests can choose their preference for high-speed hardwire or wireless access either when they book or when they check-in and have the charges billed directly to their account.

In addition to the in room options Duxton Hotel offers two alternative wireless networks offering prepaid plans from as little as $5.00.

Duxton Hotel’s wireless network is available in all 192 guest rooms, the mezzanine floor – including the restaurant and bar areas, lobby and conference rooms. “Once connected to the network you can roam the hotel with no loss of connectivity,” Mr Overend says.

The top five floors of the hotel as well as all Club Suites and conference rooms have been cabled for hardwire connection.

The Duxton Hotel network offers a flat rate plan, $24.95 per day for unlimited use – no excess user charges, no limits on download or upload and no time restrictions. Guests who do not travel with laptops can utilise computers in the hotel’s Business Centre, which is available 24-hours a day.

“We are delighted to be providing a solution for our valued guests that is both cutting edge and price competitive,” Mr Overend says.
