Life Pharmacy appoints Des Flynn to new Chief Operating Officer role

Life Pharmacy Limited has appointed Des Flynn to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. He will oversee the daily operations of the company, build the Life Pharmacy brand, drive retail performance and manage the company’s franchise holder relationships.

Tim Roper, Life Pharmacy CEO, says Mr Flynn’s extensive retail management and retail development experience will be invaluable in streamlining Life Pharmacy’s day-to-day operations and building its brand.

“Des brings with him a proven track record and extensive experience in senior executive roles in large-scale retail operations. He has consistently demonstrated his ability to improve the operating performance of retail organisations. By taking on this new role he will enable me to devote more time to implementing our strategic plans to capitalise on new opportunities for growth, innovation and continuing retail profitability.”

Prior to joining Life Pharmacy Mr Flynn worked on a joint venture between Life Pharmacy and CS Company to set-up the Life Outlet Store at Dress Smart, Onehunga. He is also managing the development of the new Sylvia Park Life Pharmacy.

Mr Flynn has also spent several years working in senior retail positions including director of strategic business development and marketing at Woolworths New Zealand and general manager of Foodtown.

Mr Flynn sees plenty of opportunities for the company and its franchise holders and looks forward to assisting Life Pharmacy achieve its strategic plans.

“I have enjoyed working on projects for Life Pharmacy and am delighted now to join the company in this new role. Life Pharmacy has plenty of growth opportunities before it, and it is my role to manage day-to-day operations so that they can be successfully addressed.”
