Oddjob.co.nz - Finding Tradespeople Quickly

Oddjob.co.nz Ltd Media Release

The founder of Oddjob.co.nz, Patrick Broadbent

********

We all know the frustration of wanting a tradesman for a job and being unable to find one. Now with Oddjob.co.nz a new Internet service being offered by young Christchurch entrepreneur, such trying experiences may be over. Oddjob.co.nz, the brainchild of city man Patrick Broadbent, is designed to bring those offering a service and those with a job needing doing together.

‘I know how difficult it can be to find the right person for a job,’ said Patrick, ‘so I decided what we need is a directory and what better way of doing that than via the Internet.’

Oddjob.co.nz provides a notice board type format where people can offer services and the public can search for the type of service in the area they want.

‘ I envisage it as a sort of community,’ Patrick says.’ In the past people gossiped about these sorts of things together, now we can share the information on the Internet. There will be small charges for advertisers. At this stage advertisers can securely pay using either a Visa or MasterCard credit card.

The potential for constant updates means that Oddjob’s Internet listing has an immediacy that printed listings lack.

‘We all know the annoying experience,’ Patrick says ‘of not knowing who to contact, or phoning a business, only to find it has closed or no longer does that sort of work. The advantage with Oddjob.co.nz is that information will be kept current. ‘
