New Zealand’s Top Creatives Snare Top Award

Scott Maddox (Art Director) and Fraser Grant (Copywriter) of Colenso BBDO, and winners of the Fairfax Media Young Creative Competition, have achieved stunning success at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in France. The New Zealand young creatives received the nod from an international press panel to beat entries from 33 other teams from around the world.

The talented duo has won silver in the ‘Print Young Creative’ section of the prestigious competition where top advertising talent from around the world gather to recognise the best of the best and to compete for the sought after Cannes Lion – the highest creative accolade in the world.

Fairfax Group Sales and Marketing Manager Sandra King, who is at the Festival, saw first hand the magnitude of the win and high quality of the competition.

“This is truly an international competition. The standard of entries was amazing and this makes the team’s award even more special,” says Sandra.

“Fairfax is very proud of the achievement of these two young men and it has gives us great pleasure to have enabled them to attend the Festival so they could compete on the world stage and receive this once in a life-time award in person.

“The win is a reflection of the international standard that New Zealand creatives are working at. We have an industry that is really thriving and we here at Fairfax Media are excited to be a part of it.”

The awards are in their 53rd year and this is the second year that Fairfax Media has sponsored a team from New Zealand to attend.
