BBSNZ Adds Techscape to its NZ Operations

Bilfinger Berger Services Adds Techscape to its New Zealand Operations

Auckland, 30 August 2006 - Bilfinger Berger Services (New Zealand) Limited (BBSNZ) today confirmed its purchase of Techscape Limited, a leading provider of infrastructure maintenance in the areas of water, drainage and greenscapes.
Dave Edwards, General Manager for BBSNZ says the company is thrilled to welcome the Techscape team.

“This is a great fit for us. Techscape has great staff, all highly skilled with industry expertise and in-depth local asset knowledge. In fact, this is what attracted us to the business”.

Edwards says that Techscape’s considerable value, most particularly with the skills and expertise of its 300 plus staff will be a significant addition to BBSNZ.

“Techscape helps us consolidate our expertise in the water and greenscapes sectors and assists us to increase the services we provide to existing clients as well as grow our wider business in New Zealand”.

Prior to the acquisition by BBS NZ, Techscape was a council-controlled trading organisation owned 50:50 by North Shore City Council and Waitakere City Council respectively.

“We are committed to growing our business in New Zealand by investing in people, systems, and equipment. Our aim is to be the service provider of choice in the water, waste water, greenscapes and engineering services markets and Techscape is an important building block for BBSNZ’s expanded operations, and an integral part of our future plans which we will announce in more detail in the near future.”

In addition, Edwards says that Techscape provides BBSNZ with the consolidation and critical mass required to be competitive in the water and greenscapes sector.

“With the acquisition of Techscape, BBSNZ becomes one of the major providers of water and waste water services in New Zealand. BBSNZ has considerable expertise in the New Zealand water and greenscapes sector and the purchase will enhance contracts with our existing clients like Metrowater, Hutt City Council, and Wellington City Council. Techscape also gives us the ability to broaden our service offerings to existing clients, as well as other local government organisations and private companies throughout New Zealand.”
