Media Release for immediate use, 19 September 2006

And the Best Caterer in Canterbury is…

Spotless Catering at the Christchurch Convention Centre has been awarded the crème de la crème of awards for catering in Canterbury.

The company has won the “Most Outstanding Caterer Award” at the Ferndale Canterbury Hospitality Awards, which is selected by around 600 hospitality professionals.

Spotless’ Food and Beverage Manager Russell Kenny says they are extremely happy to receive the award.

“What makes this special for us is that it was voted on by our peers – people who know food, have an exceptional understanding of good service and extremely high expectations.”

“Spotless and Vbase (the company which manages the Convention Centre) staff work together to deliver an exceptional product and this award belongs to our staff, it is positive reinforcement of our goal to deliver great stages and be great hosts,” says Russell Kenny.

Vbase Group Marketing Manager, Alan Garner, says Spotless deserves the accolade.

“This is a company that sometimes feeds up to 2,000 people a day and when they do, the standard of the food and service is just as outstanding as when they are catering for small groups.”

“That is the sign of a truly excellent catering company – the ability to maintain exceptional standards when you are catering for extremely large numbers,” concluded Alan Garner.
