Voting in Fonterra Elections Steady to Date

Fonterra shareholders are urged to get their votes in for the Fonterra elections.

Voting for the Fonterra Board of Directors and Shareholders’ Council elections closes at midday on Tuesday 10th October 2006.

Returning Officer Warwick Lampp said that although the voting period has passed the half-way mark, only 22 per cent of potential votes had been received.

“All shareholders should take this opportunity to exercise their right to vote and have a say,” says Mr Lampp.

“Shareholders should have received their voter packs by now. Any shareholder who hasn’t received a voting pack should contact me immediately for a replacement.”

On-line secure voting through Fencepost.com is again available this year for both elections. Postal voting and fax voting can also be used.

There are elections for three Directors from five candidates as well as a Shareholders’ Council election in Ward 23, Canterbury South.

Election results will be announced by the Board Chairman at Fonterra’s Annual Meeting in Invercargill on Wednesday 11th October 2006. All shareholders will be advised of the election results in a letter from the Board Chair.

Any queries regarding the election should be directed to the Returning Officer on the Election Hotline 0508 666 446.
