SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards 5 Firms Honoured

New Zealand recruiters honoured at 2006 SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards (SARAs)

Five of New Zealand’s leading recruitment firms were honoured in Auckland last night at the industry’s pre-eminent awards ceremony, the SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards (SARAs).

Launched in 2004, the SARAs reward excellence and encourage high standards in the recruitment industry. The awards are judged by jobseekers, based on their personal experience and dealings with recruiters.

The 2006 winners across five categories were:

Kelly Services – Generalist Recruiter: large category

Alpha Personnel – Generalist Recruiter: small to medium category

Retailworld Resourcing – Specialist Recruiter: large category

Aquent – Specialist Recruiter: small to medium category

Neal Andrew & Associates – IT Recruiter

SEEK General Manager Ken Leeming says the SARAs have been embraced by New Zealand’s recruitment industry and the awards are fast becoming the benchmark for success and recognition for recruiters.

“The SARAs are an excellent way for recruiters to receive feedback and recognition from the people that are crucial to their business - candidates,” says Ken Leeming.

A record number of votes were recorded this year via SEEK’s website which opened for voting three-months prior to the awards. Candidates were asked to vote on who they believed were the best recruiters.

Mr Leeming says the qualities that make an award-winning recruiter include experience, efficiency, integrity, communication, the quality of advice given and post placement service.

“With over 550 recruiters in Auckland alone, the industry has never been so competitive. And with unemployment at an all time low and good candidates in such short supply, high standards are even more critical - and the SARAs reward exactly that,” he says.

“We have seen an increasing number of past winners promote the awards in their own company materials which shows how highly regarded the SARAs are within the recruitment industry,” says Mr Leeming.
