Dan’s singlet revealed

Dan’s singlet revealed

Step aside James Dean – Jockey brings back the iconic, classic singlet this summer. And on the back of Dan Carter, it’s looking hotter than ever.

Dan has been a fine ambassador for Jockey since he joined the team in 2004. And when Dan puts his name to a singlet, everyone’s bound to sit up and take notice.

“Over the years the classic singlet has become something of a style icon,” says Jockey’s product manager, Paula Newbold. “So it’s great to have a sporting living-legend promote it.

“Like many modern garments, what was originally intended for underwear has come out from under and today is regarded as a stand-alone item – and the Jockey singlet certainly achieves this.”

From James Dean and John Travolta to Colin Meads and Fred Dagg, the simple singlet has cool, calm and collected written all over it – and the new Jockey singlet is no exception.

Masculinity and style encapsulate the Jockey singlet range. There’s an array of colours available – from traditional ‘Marlon Brando’ black and pure white through to the more vibrant reds, greens and blues.

The champion first five’s fans may have done a double take when Pacific Brands unveiled ‘Dan’s single’ billboards in Auckland and Christchurch last week. But it’s now revealed that it’s the new season’s Jockey singlet all the fuss is about.

And having the silkiest of footy strategists riding the Jockey sales campaigns has certainly grabbed the headlines in the minds of Kiwi blokes – sales leapt by about eight per cent as soon as Dan came aboard in 2004.

“But it will be your good keen Kiwi who will be making the play with the 2006 Jockey singlet,” says Paula Newbold.

The new range is made from 100 per cent cotton and includes the benefits of no side seams for extra comfort. Itchy tags have also been eliminated with care instructions printed onto the back of the neck.

The Jockey singlet is available in sizes small through to extra large and retails at $17.99.
