International FX leader makes NZ Asia Pacific gateway

AUCKLAND, Oct. 24 /CNW-AsiaNet/ --

Custom House, one of the largest foreign exchange companies in the world has established an Asia Pacific regional head office in Auckland that has become a model business operation for the company.

Established in 2002, the Auckland branch of Custom House has grown ten-fold to become the largest non-bank foreign exchange company in New Zealand and the company’s regional head office for the entire Asia Pacific market including Australia, Singapore and points east. The company is also a big fan and sponsor of the Counties Manukau Steelers.

“I am delighted to say that our Auckland, New Zealand operation is one of our most successful branches,” said Peter Gustavson, President and CEO, while visiting the new Auckland offices this week. “Auckland now handles over $1 billion in business a year and is a benchmark for the whole company.”

Gustavson and other members of Custom House senior management are on the first leg of a regional tour this week. Senior management will inaugurate the new Custom House offices in Riflemen Tower on Wednesday with an invitation-only soiree attended by local business leaders, dignitaries and media.

“Our growth has been explosive,” said Fraser Jeffries, Vice President, Asia Pacific. “We will grow 35% this year as we continue to take two corporate customers away from the banks every business day. Nearly a thousand businesses have dealt with Custom House through this office in the past year.”
