New Head In Direct Mail At NZ Post

23 November 2006

Media Release

New Head In Direct Mail At NZ Post

New Zealand Post is delighted to announce the appointment of Sonya Crosby as national manager, Direct Mail Services.

New Zealand Post says Sonya will offer a direct point of contact for advice and information for its Direct Mail activities.

“I also see my role as that of advocacy and hope to provide that essential credible front of mind presence for direct mail users and industry players.”

Ms Crosby says direct mail is the clear winner with consumers for receiving loyalty based advertising.

“More than 750,000 New Zealanders agree direct mail is their preferred way of hearing about new products and services, and seven out of ten letterbox lovers use direct mail to help them decide where to buy things.

“Advertisers are serious about building purchase intent and loyalty with their customers. It’s our job to make it easier for them to engage with their customers and build their relationships.”

Sonya’s background includes senior roles within newspapers (where she headed up the Newspaper Advertising Bureau), internet and television, along with several years experience in advertising agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and McCann Worldwide.

Sonya will be based in Auckland and can be contacted at: Sonya.crosby@nzpost.com.
