Substantial Subdivision in Attractive Rural Te Kauwhata

The largest subdivision development to date in attractive Te Kauwhata, in the heart of rural North Waikato is being launched this weekend with the first on-site inspections being invited.

Sovereign Park residential subdivision includes 63 sections in Stage 1 to be established over the coming years. Marketed by the Harcourts Huntly office, the project on Blunt Road has been brought to fruition by the well known GJ Gardner Homes as an upmarket and affordable ‘land and home’ package opportunity.

Business Owner of Harcourts Huntly, Stan Hickford said while Te Kauwhata, like the surrounding region, had experienced a lot of residential and lifestyle development in recent years, Sovereign Park was by far the largest to date and also “the most desirable” due to its elevated site, with far-reaching views set in such attractive rural surrounds.

Mr Hickford added that while the small village of Te Kauwhata had a population of just over 1,000, it was within 12kms of Huntly and also sited conveniently between Auckland and Hamilton. And with the increasing number of Aucklanders moving to the area to enjoy a rural community family lifestyle with an easy 40 minute commute to Southern Auckland, he was expecting strong buyer enquiry from both locals and out of towners. In addition, the mid-2007 opening of the Spring Hill Corrections Facility locally, which will include 400 staff members and families, was another strong buying group Harcourts Huntly was already receiving strong enquiry from.

With a starting price of just over $360,000 for an attractive three bedroom brick home and section with just the drapes and plants to be added by the new owners, Mr Hickford believed Sovereign Park was another attractive reason to live in Te Kauwhata.

“While Huntly and the surrounding region are still very popular farming and dairying areas, Te Kauwhata is no longer just a grape growing region. It’s a very pleasant part of rural New Zealand with easy access to our largest city which has seen more demand for quality lifestyle property than we can meet. We expect Sovereign Park to be a popular addition to the options we offer for those keen to move here.”
