Silver Ferns captain Adine Wilson helps Untouched World Foundation in Marlborough Sounds

New Zealand Silver Ferns netball captain Adine Wilson has been helping and encouraging special needs students in the Marlborough Sounds this week.

Wilson has been working with leading NZ lifestyle fashion company Untouched World’s charitable foundation on Blumine Island.

The Untouched World Foundation has for some years been helping improve the island’s capacity to become a potential haven for endangered bird-life, while developing a sustainable education programme for many students.

``Our charitable foundation is also at the forefront of working on sustainability and we have been achieving remarkable leadership results also in Auckland, Christchurch and Ruapehu since 2002,’’ Untouched world chief executive Peri Drysdale said today.

``This week we sent another group of students to the Blumine Island native reserve – along with myself and Adine.

``She really enjoyed working alongside the students and it was an eye opener to her how these students benefit from what we do.’’

Crusaders forward coach and former All Black Mark Hammett talked to the students at Christchurch on their return.

and The foundation, in partnership with Department of Conservation, Ministry of Education, the Auckland Regional Council, the Community Trust and BNZ Save the Kiwi Trust have also been working with young adults on growth issues in Auckland, resource management in Canterbury and with Kiwi in Ruapehu National Park.

Untouched World last month won the Deloitte top 200 business ethics award. They plan to open their fifth store in Wellington in March.
