Interislander experiences biggest day ever

This Friday Interislander will move the most passengers ever in one day through their Wellington terminal with close to 8000 passengers booked to travel either way across the Cook Strait .

From Thursday through to Saturday many sailings are fully booked and sailings from Picton to Wellington are also very heavy although not quite as many are making the trip North.

Interislander are urging people to make sure they check in as early as possible to ensure as smooth as possible loadings onto the ship.

What has assisted with the increase in passengers is having the Kaitaki that can carry 1600 people and is the country’s largest passenger ferry ship.

To cater for the large number of children expected to travel, Interislander also will have entertainers on board such as clowns and magicians.
