Keith Norris honoured for his special contribution

Keith Norris honoured for his special contribution to the Marketing Association and the marketing industry in New Zealand.

Keith Norris, CEO of the Marketing Association

Keith Norris, CEO of the Marketing Association, received a special, unexpected The Marketing Association’s Marketing Champion Award from Sharon Henderson, Chairman of the Marketing Association, at the New Zealand Direct and Interactive Marketing Awards on 23 February at SkyCity Auckland.

During Keith’s 15 year tenure the Marketing Association has evolved enormously, with the emphasis being on education, communication and regulation and is now recognised and respected as one of New Zealand’s leading business organisations whose opinions are sought by the media and Government.

Chairman Sharon Henderson stated that “Keith has made such a difference to the Association that it truly would not be where it is today without him.”

The Marketing Association officially came into being on 25 February 2005, having initially been established in 1974 as the New Zealand Direct Marketing Association. The Association’s purpose is to encourage and develop the highest standards of measurable marketing in New Zealand.

As the business organisation for New Zealand's Marketers, the Marketing Association has members ranging from the country's largest corporates to individuals – approximately 4,000 Marketing professionals - and is committed to stimulating business success through best practice marketing.

During 2006 the Marketing Association ran 160 events New Zealand-wide which were attended by 5 298 marketers.

The calendar of events included Brainy Breakfasts for the emarketing fraternity, regional lunches, seminars, workshops and of course the prestigious Direct Marketing Awards.

Another of the 2006 initiatives, the mentoring programme – where young marketers are paired with experienced professionals - is a highly valued addition to the range of member services.
