MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Openeye Shines At Gen-I Awards

Auckland, 20 March 2007 - OpenEye, a leading sensory media agency, announced today that it has won two major categories (Start-Up of the Year) as well as Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious Gen-I annual incubator awards at SKYCITY Convention Centre.

The Gen-i annual incubator awards, now in its third year, included many of the country’s hottest start-up companies. It is competitively contested with many entries from all around New Zealand. Previous award winners included success stories like Trademe. The aim of the Gen-i New Zealand Incubator Awards is to celebrate those New Zealand's best and brightest companies and entrepreneurs across five categories such as Innovation of the Year; Entrepreneur of the Year; Start-Up of the Year; Hall of Fame Award, and Start-Up Exporter of the Year.

With a team of 21 specialised staff, OpenEye is now an international company with a presence in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Europe.

Gareth Croy, CEO of OpenEye says that he is delighted with the Company’s success at the Gen-i Incubator Awards.

“OpenEye’s award as the Start-Up of the Year is a great achievement and we are thrilled to have the recognition for the work we have done to date which is now starting to deliver significant results both in New Zealand and around the world.
We are especially grateful to the Icehouse and Andy Hamilton for all of the support and advice that we have received as one of the companies accepted as part of the incubator programme,” says Croy.

Croy also says that he is indebted to the support from Greg Muir for all his support and mentoring as Advisory Chairman for OpenEye over the last four years.

“Greg has been superb in his willingness and generosity to donate his time and advice which has been invaluable to OpenEye. I dedicate my Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Greg for his mentoring and look forward to his ongoing support.”

In 2005 OpenEye was recognised as delivering the best solution in retail internationally which was a strong endorsement of what the company was doing right.

OpenEye has several clients in New Zealand and internationally including Life Pharmacy, Regency Duty Free, Sovereign Bank as well as major retail, advertising and commercial companies.

Croy also says that point of purchase (POP) research shows that a sales increase of 56% from a static display compared to an amazing 107% with digital media – moreover 94% of consumers that saw a motion display recalled the content versus only 43% from static displays.

“Digital media is more effective than traditional formats because it generates greater attention and can target multiple markets of consumers as it is not just limited to one message – the conversion rate to purchases from digital media shows that.”

OpenEye provides a complete bundled solution including content production, management and distribution, as well as equipment and implementation.
