Top businesses search for work experience applicants

Fancy being Paul Holmes’ P.A. for a month? How about a week in the country’s hottest ad agency? Or joining the “girls” at Tui?

These are just three of the opportunities on offer to New Zealanders in a new employment programme launched today by internet job site search4jobs.co.nz.

The Get-a-Go-Getter programme is recruiting young Kiwis for work experience in a variety of high interest jobs with leading New Zealand companies in three main centres (Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch).

Work experience is available to go-getters studying for or otherwise partly qualified for the huge variety of positions on offer.

In addition to jobs with Paul Holmes, Saatchi & Saatchi and the Tui Brewery, search4jobs.co.nz is looking for people interested in fashion, IT, PR, hospitality, marketing, politics, journalism and more.

search4jobs.co.nz director Jude Manuel says the only requirement is keenness to be involved.

“While the employment market is pretty tight at the moment, go-getters often have trouble finding somewhere where they can get a good idea of what makes businesses or industries tick.

“We have approached a huge range of different industries and located a leading company in each field to establish a work experience opportunity for one successful candidate at each business,” Ms Manuel says.

“It’s the best way to find out if you’re really cut out for a particular industry or field and what it takes to get a job there. Obviously the positions will suit people studying for those industries or already experienced in them.”

Ms Manuel says applicants should go to the website www.search4jobs.co.nz to find out what opportunities are available and then apply on-line.

Work experience opportunities are to be taken from Monday April 16 and last for one week[1]. They are available across a variety of industries in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

Ms Manuel says search4jobs.co.nz is able to launch the programme because of its strong relationships with some of the best and most innovative companies in New Zealand.

Applications for the programme open on Wednesday March 21 at www.search4jobs.co.nz and close on Friday April 6.
