New Site: Free Online Auctions, No Success Fees

tradefree.net.nz

A NEW WEB SITE OFFERING FREE ON-LINE AUCTIONS & SOON TO FOLLOW FREE CLASSIFIEDS IS SET TO STIMULATE LOCAL AND NATIONAL ECONOMIES

NAPIER (1st May 2007) : Hawke’s Bay based TradeFree Ltd has launched its on line auction site which offers users free registration and free listings yet no success fees.

Advertising by businesses is offered in the form of logo links to the advertiser’s web site at very affordable prices. How affordable? Try $50 per week to any region such as Auckland, Canterbury, or the Hawke’s Bay. Or, for a mere $200 p/w, this is displayed to a nation wide audience of TradeFree users.

By this, TradeFree have eliminated the need to charge the users any fees, at any point, for any of the services they use, while providing smaller businesses with the exposure they need at a price they can easily afford, thus stimulating the small business market.

The site has been launched with its on line auction component but will also have a classified section which will be live by the start of June 2007.

The goal is to further stimulate the economy by offering free advertising exposure to self employed people such as nannies, plumbers, electricians, IT specialists, or any other individual offering services. In fact, this classified section offers free postings on such categories usually expected in classifieds such as “Job Vacancies”, “Jobs Wanted”, “Public Notices”, “Garage Sales and even a “Gig guide” category to enable users to view content related to a specific region and town. This allows bands to get the free exposure they need.

TradeFree Ltd hopes to offer the Bay “fair pay” employment that is competitive with wages one would expect in Auckland and the ability to make money from the Australian market in the future by offering them their own TradeFree service which will also be hosted in though a Hawkes Bay ISP called Airnet.

Founding member Craig Ralton says, “It’s just what the New Zealand public have been waiting for. I think people are sick of being charged fees for what should be free. These are bits and bytes we are talking about, not hard slog. Most web sites make their money from hits and advertising. They have no need to charge fees, it’s just greed. It’s kind of like being charged money for listening to your radio. Google or Yahoo don’t charge to use their search engine or e-mail service, neither does YouTube for streaming video. I think you will see an increasing trend of free sites that used to charge fees in the coming years. User-pays web services will be a dead concept for all but a handful of specialised services.”
