Orcon teams up with Tomizone to offer personal Wifi Hotspots

Orcon is pleased to announce it has teamed up with Tomizone, the new global Wi-Fi Hotspot company that enables people to share their broadband connection securely.

New or existing broadband customers of Orcon, New Zealand¹s fourth largest telco; are able to share their connections wirelessly and make money doing so using the Tomizone global service.

Users can purchase a D-link wireless router for $120 that is pre-configured with everything they need to share their connection and earn money. Once turned on, the user then sets up an instant Tomizone account to receive any revenue obtained.

"We are really excited to be the first ISP on board with this service, and have already had customers showing a lot of interest" said Duncan Blair, Marketing Manager at Orcon.

The Wi-Fi router is shipped to the customer¹s doorstep, comes with complete instructions, and takes less than ten minutes to set up. Its pre-configuration also protects the users network from unauthorized access.

"Increasingly customers are wanting the convenience of a wireless connection in their house or office, and the Tomizone system lets them have that with built in security. As an added bonus they can make a modest amount of money at the same time when other users connect to their hotspot" continued Blair..

People connecting to the wireless hotspot are prompted to purchase either a day or week pass on the network. A hotspot user can pay for the service, securely, with their Credit Card, PayPal account or simply purchase a voucher from the venue if it sells them. Hotspot owners get half of the revenue that their hotspot generates and they can access their own hotspot for free, and grant their friends and family free access also.

"With the proliferation of wireless-enabled devices, people are going to be demanding affordable wireless internet access. Partnering with Tomizone gives our customers the opportunity to profit from this" concluded Blair.
