ilovesales is the collaboration of husband and wife company director team, Marcus and Sue Kohn-Taylor, and is the result of a year in strategic planning and development. Their combined background represents a marketing and business career with several key corporate accounts spanning nearly 50 years.
Born from the frustration of Sue where she found she was always missing key sales. Working part and full time over the years she had less and less time to be aware of what sales were on. “It was hard work to find out where and when they were on and whilst I didn’t always want to buy sale goods, at times they can be quite opportune.” Said Sue. After talking to various people she realised that this was an issue for everyone – male and female. Intense research soon showed there was a large gap in the market. The solution was simple for Sue and Marcus - Provide a handy vehicle where all this information could be found. One that would be beneficial to the customer as well as to the retailer and of course it had to be on the internet! It was a need that had never been addressed.
One of the most pleasing aspects from their introductory meetings with retailers, has been their positive reception. Retailers are excited about this new advertising medium as a very cost effective way of reaching their target market locally and nationally without letting go of their foot traffic and profits to sales online. Interesting too, they have found that retail spend on digital media is very low, at only 2.9% of overall spend, because there are very few niche websites on which retail advertisers can advertise. “There are plenty of generic sites, but they are mainly online shopping sites.” Says Sue. “Our model has been built to take on all sectors of business as the demand becomes apparent, for example, ‘buy one get one free’ and the classic ‘gift with purchase’ are the first in what we thought would be 2008 growth, happening now!”

“ilovesales entry into the market place has

It is a new
marketing tool for retailers who currently have a very
narrow choice in cost effective advertising media. Unlike
other retail websites, ilovesales doesn’t sell product, it
sells ‘sales’ and drives the customer back instore to
buy the product. It is a targeted advertising medium for
Retailers - It actually tells shoppers/consumers about the
retail sales they want to know about.
Consumers can have
casual access or choose the online member benefits of
receiving SALE-mail alerts on the sales or special offers
they are interested in, across 15 shopping categories.
“There is no-one doing this at the moment.” Says Marcus. “What they are coming to realise is our product can be a conduit. It is an online bridge that extends the life of traditional advertising. The only people who might find us to be competition are the old fashioned household mailers promoting a range of Retailers’ offers. We’re putting the power of electronic Direct Marketing (EDM) into the hands of all retailers, bringing the customers back to the store!
